Bostik 70-08A
High-performance elastic adhesive/sealant used for marine glass glazing and bonding applications, and for suitable marine window sealing, where strong initial hold, UV resistance and durable adhesion are required.

Bonded marine windows rely on an adhesive system rather than a single product: the glazing adhesive, the glass and frame substrates, and the preparation steps all work together. Iris Products USA supplies Bostik glazing adhesives and surface-preparation products used in yacht and boat window bonding.

The glazing material is the first thing to confirm. The adhesive system depends on the glazing material, whether the bond line is protected from UV, the frame substrate, the joint design and the installation conditions.
Bostik documents 70-08A and 70-08A AP for bonding glass. Iris does not recommend either for acrylic (Plexiglass) or polycarbonate windows without verified Bostik guidance for that exact material — those windows are reviewed through Application Support.

View Bostik 70-08A APBostik states that 70-08A adheres well without primer on glass. Its documentation separately says that a UV-resistant primer is not needed when the glass/adhesive interface is protected from UV by a ceramic coating. Prep G Plus is a black preparation agent that can create a UV-protective layer between glass and adhesive; Prep M is a pre-treatment for metals and GRP. The complete preparation system still depends on the glass, coating, UV exposure, frame and installation, so Iris confirms it for the specific job through Application Support — especially where ceramic protection is absent or uncertain.
It depends on the glazing material (glass, acrylic or polycarbonate), whether the bond line has ceramic UV protection, the frame substrate, the joint design and the installation conditions. For glass, Bostik 70-08A or 70-08A AP may be relevant. For acrylic, polycarbonate or any uncertain combination, send the details through Application Support and Iris will review them before recommending a system.
Both are Bostik marine glazing adhesives. 70-08A is commonly used in field installation and refit work; 70-08A AP is suited to controlled, repeatable production bonding.
Usually, yes. The required system depends on whether the glass has ceramic UV protection at the bond line and which frame substrate is involved.
When UV protection at the bond line is unclear, when unusual glazing or frame materials are involved, or when more positioning time is needed than the adhesive allows.
